Catalogue for the exhibition Art Valencià 87, held in June 1987 in the exhibition hall at the Municipal Cultural Centre of Alcoi.
In his introduction, Román de la Calle acknowledges the inherent limitations of the show—such as the large number of selected artists and the restriction of exhibiting only one work per artist—as well as the absence of certain notable figures. Nonetheless, he affirms the exhibition’s value in offering visitors a representative overview of the diversity, quality and virtual presentness of the various approaches on display. It also allows for the identification of the most significant and successful aspects of the different artistic directions presented.
The work by Enric Alfons selected for the exhibition belonged to his Deessa Màscara series.
